Pochins secures Aldi consent
Pochin’s has secured planning consent to build a new Aldi supermarket in Widnes.The Middlewich-headquartered construction and property specialist has obtained approval from Halton Borough Council for a 19,500 sq ft Aldi food store. The project, put forward by Pochin’s in partnership with Malahat Properties, How Planning and Hulme Upright Architects, relates to a vacant 143,000 sq ft site next to Derby Road in Farnworth.Remediation work on the land, which was previously home to a manufacturing plant, has already taken place as part of a wider masterplan for new housing in the area alongside supporting amenities.The one-storey superstore will be supported by 159 parking spaces as well as a newly refurbished access road.Work on the site is set to begin in the summer of 2017.
